About Us:
La Casa De Don David Secluded in its own jungle garden on Lake Peten Itza, La Casa de Don David is less than 15 minutes from the entrance to Tikal Park and 25 min. from Flores.

This hotel is centrally located and wonderful place to base your Tikal vacation activities. It is located in the village of El Remate, between Flores and Tikal. Transportation to Tikal is very easy and buses to and from Belize, Flores, etc arrive just 30 meters from the hotel entrance.

It is convenient and within a 2 hr ride of many important Mayan ruins in addition to Tikal, such as Yaxha, Nakun, Uaxactun, Zotz, Motul and Ceibal. Within a half-hour are: Tikal, Yaxha, El Retiro sanctuary, the Sky Way (swinging bridges, jungle walks), the three different Canopy Tours, Petencito Zoo, and Actun-Can caves

There are a number of ecologically oriented hiking trails and others points of interest within easy walking distance or a 10 min. ride.

Facilities & Services:
The hotel rooms are large by local standards, well cared for, most have reading lights and all have a view overlooking the large botanical garden with the lake in the back ground. Its a 200 meter walk to the lakes edge for clean swimming.

The grounds are lush and walkways are of beautifully laid native rock. Hotel has safe for your valuables. Accepts Traveler checks, Free bottled water to guests, Free internet for checking email, Accepts Master & Visa with no extra charge.

Veranda with chairs and hammock for most rooms. Gazebo with chairs and hammock. Free parking for 5 cars, Tourist Information.

Each hotel room has a private bath and fan with a veranda sitting area. The water is clean and filtered. 11 of the rooms are equipped with air conditioned and have outside the room compressors. No Rooms have TVs.

Our guests say food is excellent and well worth the stop even if you cannot spend the night.

Our hotel has 15 nice rooms... No T.V.s. (In the U.S. it would be called a motel or cabins or guest house.)

Extra persons 5 to 18 yrs. Pay $10 per person. Includes one meal, Extra persons over 18 yrs. Pay $14 per person. Includes one meal if only one person occupies the room, the price is $7 .00 extra

David Kuhn is a native Floridian who has spend more than 31 years in the Peten, and his time and experiences in Guatemala have been used to the fullest to create a wonderful travelers hotel in the heart of a very beautiful area. David's wife, Rosita Rodas de Kuhn, operates the restaurant serving both local specialties and international plates. Also the old favorites of cheese cake and apple pie with ice cream

How to find us.
La Casa De Don David is located between Flores and Tikal in the small woodcarving village of El Remate, Peten, and are known to all here in the village.

You can contact any of the transport services in Guatemala to bring you here, or fly directly to Flores and we'll arrange pick-up.

Reservation Policy:
This reservation service is free. When you reserve, your 10% deposit is credited against the total value of your reservation. It is required in order to block your space and confirm your reservation with the balance of 90% due upon your arrival with us.

We may require additional payments to hold your particular reservation up to and including a full 100% prepayment depending upon the details of your reservation. If that is the case, you will be advised of these additional reservation payments before you are asked to confirm your reservation with payment of the 10% non-refundable confirmation deposit.

Cancellation Policy:
After reservation, you are free to cancel for any reason and without penalty against your balance due up to three days prior to schedule arrival unless otherwise stated in your reservation confirmation. Any later cancellation or a no-show will cause a billing of one night's lodging per the terms of your confirmed reservation.
